Jordan Poole dramatically exited from the Golden State Warriors last summer and was traded to the Washington Wizards in exchange for point guard Chris Paul.

In his long four-year playing with a title-winning Warriors team, he seems to struggle, but now Poole hopes to show what he has learned with the Wizards.

As reported by Logan Murdock of The Ringer via Legion Hoops, Poole shared that winning a title with the Warriors has taken care of his basketball legacy. He said,

“Playing the game I love at the highest level, my family is taken care of, my basketball legacy is taken care of with the ring. This is probably the first time in my life I’ll play basketball with no pressure. So that’s kind of how you look at it. But it’s a really good opportunity. It’s a cool opportunity, dope opportunity.”

Poole is all geared up for his upcoming season in Washington, D.C., where the Wizards are also eager to rebuild the 24-year-old hopes.

As shared with The Ringer,

“I have kind of been almost preparing for this my entire life. I’m coming from a situation of an organization where it’s so much all the time: media, scrutiny, noise, just, 24/7 highest level of basketball. And I passed that class. Four years, you pass that course, and you learn so much over those four years. And now we got a new course, we got new classes, we’re enrolled into a new situation.”

For the Wizards, it is also a new beginning as well, after they fired GM Tommy Sheppard and hired team president Michael Winger and GM Will Dawkins.

Preparing a stage for a rebuild of an organization that hasn’t made it past the first round of the playoffs since 2017. They acquired Poole, then re-signed Kyle Kuzma to a four-year, $102 million contract.
